Greenhill Crossing to Disallow Home Businesses

In an email sent to the Haymarket Town Council on December 4, 2008 it states:

It has recently been brought to my attention that two
residents of Greenhill Crossing have requested business licenses from
the town of Haymarket for in home business. Our Declaration of
Covenants prohibits home business in Article VI. Specifically "6.1
Residential Use. All lots within the Property shall be used exclusively
for residential purposes.

I am requesting that these two request be denied based on the
fact that they are in violation of Greenhill Crossing's Declaration of
Covenants. I would be happy to provide a copy of the Covenants to you

The bubbling spring behind the post office

I am asking this hoping someone in the know will tell me...

What's with the water coming out of the ground in the rear corner of the Post Office lot?

Is it a natural spring? A broken watermain?
Is it being addressed?

Will there be millions of mosquitos habitating the marsh that is forming back there this summer?

The Post Office

Has anyone else had less than pleasant experiences at the post office?Other than the nightmare of driving, parking and leaving I mean. Theyseem to be kind of rude in there ( I suppose it could be just my impression) but in all honesty, when I want rude service from someone who has at best a slight grip on the english language I usually just go to McDonalds.

Mrs. Weir

Ma'am, you should probably let the boys duke this one out. I'd hate to see your reputation and/or standing in the community impugned in any way.

It is nice that you care about the Town and the PD folks working the checkpoints...but I believe you would be better served staying at home, away from the checkpoints, where people are sometimes drunk and belligerent.

I would suggest you keep Mr. Weir off the streets and allow him to be the "king of beers" at home. You'd hate for him to be one of the Council members targeted in a random DUI check on his way home from Bonefish or Unos.

In no way is this meant as an attack on you or your children...but merely a statement about your husband, who at times, seems likes he's a little on edge. Perhaps he needs to drink to calm down and/or to cover up the scent of the tobacco he's been smoking all day. If I were you, I'd be less worried about the Town and it's problems than I'd be worried about my spouse and the cancer causing carcinogens he ingests on a daily basis.

Timmy Don't Start

Hey there tim, If I appeared drunk, it may have been the hot carafe of coffee I was carrying to the officers or a result of one of you funny guys jumping out from behind a building and shining your flashlight in my eyes. The Chief Roop did not tell you to leave me alone and several officers drank the supposed coffee I carried up to Town Hall on the evening of the DUI checkpoint. I do not live in a glass house and do not throw stones.

You may choose to pick on my husband, the Mayor and any Town Council members of your liking however my friend, you MAY NOT pick on myself, my children's mother or you will have the fight of your life as not only am I a voter I also have many friends in this small town of Haymarket. I also have a copy of the accusatory posting of 4:10pm this afternoon and I am willing to use it.

this is dumb

i think everyone needs to stop wasting time on this website and get back to work at their regular job and earn the money that they are being paid. it's been demostrated time and time again that the current control of this town is unfair and mis-managed - severely! we don't need something like this to continue to put salt in the wound of this town's bad reputation. all we need to do is vote for an entire new panel come may 2nd. GET BACK TO WORK!

Re: Sour Grapes

KOB, you sound like you seem to know more than most of us about what the town is doing/has done/is trying to do, but it seems like for some reason you are trying to use a sheer volume of arguments to gloss over a few things that residents like myself feel are important:

1. The town seems to get nothing but bad press
2. The "facts" presented in the bad press articles are never refuted by government officials - all they ever say is no comment
3. And this is a new concern brought about by your original post...Why is the town spending "tens of thousands" of dollars because of a "vendetta"??? That is shocking and something that all town residents need to know about. What is the nature of this "vendetta"? Who's invovled? How much money has been spent???

SOUR GRAPES

I have followed this forum for several days and have arrived at the following conclusions.

First, the content of this website appears to have been created, directed and moderated by the recently terminated or suspended officers of the Police Department and one sitting Council Member who is both a personal friend of those former officers and has consistently interceded on their behalf regardless of circumstances.

Secondly, it appears that the thrust of the website is to denigrate the reputation and efforts of the Mayor, Town Council and Police Department.

Third, despite numerous reference to wrong-doing or mismangement on the part of those targeted, there is little or no discussion of the sexual harrassment charge filed against the aforementioned Council Member, alleged criminal activity by several members of the terminated or suspended officers or the immature behavior of those individuals, particularly Mr. Benjamin.
