Chief wants New Police Officer Position

After the town axes the Auxillary Police Program, Chief now wants another paid position.

How much is this going to cost the taxpayers?

so...how do the anti-crime stats stack up with 3, 4, or 5 officers? Has anyone reviewed the stats from the old reserve program?

They need to find a Cletus, that way you would have a bona fide tourist attraction:

Chief Rosco P. Coletrain
his trusty k9 unit Flash
Deputy Enos
and the new guy can be Cletus Hogg

Check it out, they could put a jump on main st and chase drunk politicians who are on their way home from local bars...

Now...that whole thing about chasing local officials home from bars was found to be untrue and just a rumor...wasn't it? I mean, I hope that it is...there's much bigger things to worry about in this Town.

How's the crime? Speeding on Jefferson St? Trucks carrying too heavy of a load? I66? Must not be any drugs in town, since the puppy dog has never earned his keep...how's that dog's asthma and skin rash doing?

Sobriety Check Points

Incidently, the Haymarket Police Department along with the cooperation of the Prince William Police Department and the Virginia State Police stopped approximately 220 DWIs in a recent Sobriety Checkpoint Joint Operation conducted in the Town Of Haymarket.

I know that if you are a DWI person it makes no difference what your public or private status is.

They arrested 220 people for DUI??? Why isn't that in the press???
