Candidates and residents are invited to respond.

Please, since this is an open forum, I would like:

* 1) – I want to see those residents who want to see real estate taxes raised, Haymarket Vehicle Registration fees raised, and Building Permit/Application for Certificate of Appropriateness fees raised to come forward and lets see who you are, and go ahead say how much.
· 2) - I want for each of the candidates running for Town Council and Mayor to set forth, in the media, independently, his or her plan to raise or not to raise - real estate taxes, the Business Tangible Personal Property Gross Receipts Tax, Business License and Business License Renewal fees, Text Amendment Fees, Vehicle Registration Fees, Vehicle Registration Renewal Fees, Food tax, Cigarette or Tobacco Surtax, Building Permit/Application for Certificate of Appropriateness, Electrical Permit, Mechanical Permit, Plumbing Permit, Demolition Permit - how much and when for each category; come on lets get it out in the public.
· 3) - I want the candidates running for Town Council and Mayor to outline each and every detail of the plan, independently, in the media, that they have for the Haymarket Police Department, and I mean every detail - be honest and open.
· 4) - I also, need to see before the election what exactly does "Change" mean that some of the candidates who are running for Town Council and Mayor advocate.
· 5) - I need to know how each candidate for Town Council and the Mayor’s Office stand on "Historical Buildings and Sites" within the corporate limits of the Town Of Haymarket.

Good Idea - .

I am new to this forum, I feel as though I was invited to visit this web site from information on a post card, and have read a lot of things that people have had to say. Honestly, its a waste of time and effort to read almost anything I have seen thus far, and I will not return.

Out of all that I have read on this web site, this (glenp) person's comment about the candidates stating his or her platform, and suggestion is by far the best idea yet. It is pretty much what I had expected to find on this web site. However, if I were a candidate I'd rather post my platform in a local newspaper or in another form of media vehicle, or with my contingency. Glenp, I see where you suggest that as well. You are a good person.

No disrespect for web sites (some are educational, some are unethical, some are ethical, some are entertainment, some are news worthy) nor to either candidate, but I have seen better staged theratrics on the one partial show of Jerry Springer that I watched; and that show was as rediculous as the way this web site is being used.

In closing, it really looks like there are three to four who constantly harass whoever the persons are that are merely expressing themselves. Its like you are lurking in the shadows and are ready to pounch. I have this cold chill of disrespect for each one of you, and a plain old gut feeling that you three or four are desparetly covering up some wrong doing or guilt feeling that is somewhere in your past. I really and truly hope that neither one of you are running for public office.

Yahtemark and glen p

perhaps we should write in glenp as the candidate for Mayor and Yahtemark as a candidate for Council since they both seem to be on the same page and are not rediculous as some of the other people posting on this site appear to be. They both appear to really care about the Town and certainly appear to have the time and energy to devote to the Town.

Candidate Sikorsky

I think that Ms. Sikorsky has demonstrated her care for the Town and it's develomental issues that are currently underway. At times, she cares a bit much about the greenspace and history for my concerns, but she is just standing up for her beliefs.
I would not hesitate to re-elect her to the position again, but she needs a better supporting cast.
