Support Officer Ishmael
I am hoping to reach every citizen of the town of Haymarket in helping Officer Ishmael with the situation that is going on with him. We need to voice our opinion about how Officer Ishmael has been treated. He needs all of us to help him during this troubling time. He has been falsely accused of several allegations by a jealous teenage girl that is insecure with her own relationship with her boyfriend and somehow Officer Ishmael got dragged into the mess.
We, the citizens of Haymarket know Officer Ishmael from his interactions with us while he has worked for the department. I attended his first neighborhood watch seminar and I was highly impressed with his dedication to making the town a safer place. I have seen him on several occasions talking to children and passing out stickers and turning on his police car to show them the lights and sirens. I would trust my children with him and I respect him for coming on here and using his name and trying to defend his reputation the way he has.
What upsets me the most is that Officer Ishmael was assumed to be guilty by his superiors even before they questioned him or the other girl involved. How did he ever stand a chance of having a fair investigation if his coworkers were already in complete belief of the accuser and not a police officer that has a spotless record and has been more than helpful with the town and citizens. Even after hearing both sides of the two people involved the town still wanted to suspend Officer Ishmael indefinately until they were able to turn over the investigation to the Commonwealth Attorney's office to look into it. Why was Officer Ishmael suspended immediately, but the other three officers working now had complaints placed on them and they are still working! How is that fair? I see a complete total deception of the truth on how the mayor and town council handles certain officers and that needs to stop now!
Everyone on here knows the past issues with each of the three current officers and how they have lied and discredited themselves. Just look at the chief, he is the reason the town attorney resigned! Both the chief and Sgt were implicated and suspended for sexual harassment not too long ago. The Sgt loses his right to carry a gun and he still did not get suspended. I checked with other agencies and they all confirmed that an officer would be placed on Administrative leave if that were to happen to any of their officers. So why do these two head supervisors get special treatment? Why is there an officer working for the town that went through an Internal Affairs investigation with Prince William County Police when he worked there two years ago and quit in lieu of being terminated? What morals or work ethics do these three officers have to assume a good officer like Ishmael is doing anything wrong? I don't trust any of the three that are still working and I wouldn't call upon them if I needed help. I would respectfully call PWC and request one of their officers to respond to any situation because I can not trust the three officers we currently have working for us now.
A town meeting is coming up next Monday and I really hope that people will turn out and speak out on behalf of Officer Ishmael.
