Officer In Trouble
I just learned that yet another Haymarket police officer is in trouble. The officer is accused of having a more than friendly relationship with a girl that lives in town. The girl is saying that nothing happened and so is the officer. The officer is being suspended without pay until the department decides to fire him and or charge him with misconduct. I guess they think if they take away his pay and make him look bad that he would resign. The fact that the evidence against him is non present I guess he will be proven guilty by the department since he is not a part of the three stooges team.
The funny thing is is that the officer was about to make a serious allegation against Chief Roop and Sgt. Breeden for sexual harassment while at a workplace. Yep, didn't we go through this about two years ago when they were found to have been guilty by the town council and forced to be suspended? Yes! See this article... www.HaymarketCouncil.com
Well, it also seems as though this officer may have about 5 or 6 other people that are very reputable and willing to make written sworn statements that this sexual harassment complaint is true and has been ongoing for a long time. But it gets worse.
The friendly chief is also being accused of sexual harassment against a juvenile. Get this, the juvenile is the very same girl that the chief is accusing the officer from above with having a relationship with. Does this sound a little odd to anyone else?
This officer is a person I know from my contact with him on many occasions and I have never seen or heard anything bad about him, yet I have heard many complaints against the chief for this type of act. The officer has never been in trouble with the department and has even won an award for his arrests for DUI's. He is also the officer that implemented a neighborhood watch program for the communities of Haymarket and teaches safety awareness for local schools and child groups. Why would this officer with such an outstanding record with the department and after making his claims of innocence be doing anything wrong? From my understanding, the juvenile was questioned and she too said that nothing has ever happened and that her and the officer are friends and he is friends with her family and all local kids and families in the haymarket area.
Is this some kind of vendetta against an officer that was about to spill the beans on the chief and sgt.? It almost sounds like it to me. I hope this officer fights for his reputation that is at stake and the very same people that accused him are dealt with swiftly without haste with termination. I also hope that the complaint against the chief and sergeant are followed through and are prosecuted by the appropriate persons. I hope this officer sues the town and wins big for slander and being put into a situation where workplace sexual harassment is continueing to this very day.
