Donation of used Cell Phones

General Discussions

I'm looking to donate a few used cell phones. I'm looking for suggestions on who accepts them and the drop off location. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Used Cell Phone drop-off locations

All, In case you need to get rid of that old cell phone, I found a couple of places that will gladly accept used cell phones: Serve (thanks JETobias), 10043 Nokesville Road; Prince William County Sheriff's office, 9311 Lee Ave, Manassas (Judicial Center).

Haymarket Town Hall is checking to see if they collect them so that may be another option. FYI, Haymarket PD does not collect them at this time.

thanks for all your comments!

Appreciate all your comments

I appreciate all your comments! Once I find a place, I'll post it on this forum.

Donations

The Commonwealths Attorney's Office in Prince William County used to accept them. They used them in their victim witness program to help abused women. There number is 703-792-6050.

phones

I'd suggest contacting a pastor of a church and asking him if he knows of anyone in need...or perhaps the guidance dept at the High School-they might know of a student in need, that a cell phone might benefit.
By the way-that's a nice thing to do!

Try SERVE in the County

They do a lot for people in need and I'm sure that they have or have access to a program where cell phones are needed.

Those cell phones ..

The Prince William County juvenile clerk can more than likely direct you to victim / witness program to donate the phones.
They give them to battered women who can use them to call 911 ,since they do not need to be activated, in case they need help. If you have kids the phones are great to put in the car for an emergency but you have to charge them up every so often or keep a car cord with them.
The Haymarket police did except them at one time but I am not sure if they still do today.

Used cell phones

Do you know anyone who works for Raytheon? They were collecting them at their office locations in N. VA and MD. I believe they were to be donated to an abused women's shelter. Also in the Google ads on the right there was a site: www.shelteralliance.net.
