"The Haymarket Smoking Gun"

After Tuesday

General Discussions

You know, after Tuesday...when it is all said and done,I can't help but how the winners and losers of the election will react.

One hopes that dignity and grace will prevail, and that the losing candidates would put the differences behind them and focus on supporting the governing body that the people elect.

I sincerely hope that there is a high turnout for the vote.

Haymarket has the potential for an exciting future that could enrich the lives of all the people that live here.

So get out there and vote....

....and try to act like grownups on Wednesday morning.

Congrats to Ozzie and Sue!

and to all the winners. Good luck for the next 2 years.

To Tim, Bobby and Vicki...just signing up to run was a big move. More than most other folks will ever be able to say they have done.
Let's just hope some of your ideas will be considered by the winners over the next term.

i'm not so sure

I think the group of people that are now on the board is a bad combination. Not pointing at any one person directly, each may be nice and a good person, (except for Bob Weir-d), just the group as a whole isn't right for the town. And I think that it will show - it's just a matter of time. Shame on the residents that allowed "knowing of" someone or friendship to sway their votes even if they felt is wasn't the best move for the town.

I have to agree with you JET.Even though they didnt win,the candidates are to be applauded. It takes courage and dedication to run for office, and the very fact that you CARED about the town speaks volumes about your character.
I was disheartened by the low turnout of voters.Hopefully that will change with future elections.
...to the winners....Don't let any more trees fall to the chainsaws and the chippers.
Please.

also, the winners have to

also, the winners have to remember a few things:

their actions will be historic to the development of the town and the lay the groundwork for future groath.

their actions will be looked at more closely than in the past

...can you think of any more?

for the winners...

Remember, no matter who wins/loses, the Town still has a huge problem down at the PD. One example, they advertised the DUI Check for 10pm to 3am and it didn't begin until 11pm. Just like it can't run later, I don't think it can begin later than advertised either. Seems the PD was too busy wining and dining at our expense at PWs Friday night before they went to work.

Also, should Pam win, the Town (and Mr. Proffitt) will still have to continue to watch over her to see what she hides from everybody. In their best interest no doubt - right?

And the winner is...

I think that there isn't much of a race between the council candidates, either in their eyes or the everyday resident. I think the focus and interest is more on who will be voted in as Mayor. I have spoken with both Mayor candidates and I believe that the one with the least votes will be big enough to congratulate the winner and go from there. Stutz may be more privately upset because she didn't maintain her current seat, but I think both are mature enough to handle it appropriately. I have posted already who I am voting for, but have respect for both. Even to put your name on the ballot to even run is more than anyone else did, gee's there are only 2 compared to how many residents there are?????

Just two

It will either be tears of joy; or sighs of relief

they will need to be able to

they will need to be able to spell "growth"

I Agree !!

I agree with you rob..
