Wow, there were two stories on the cover of today’s News and Messenger about the resignation of a prosecutor for the Town of Haymarket . Both stories are worth the read:

* Prosecutor doubted police chief’s honesty
* The day police weren’t in court

Note to politicians and public servants: Do not lie to reporters. If you do lie to reporters don’t get caught. Reporters hate it when you lie to them and it will make the front page.

Long story made really short:

On February 2nd of this year 47 charges were dropped (including a DUI and drug possession charge) in Haymarket because the officers who wrote the citations did not appear in court. The police chief was interviewed by a reporter and the....
