Ok Council,
You agreed as a whole body to hold the Chief accountable. Why haven't you called a special meeting to address this issue with the Chief of Police? Do you feel that lying to the public is acceptable? You were all aware that he lied to council in regards to the sexual harrassment investigation. The mayor is aware that he has lied to her in the past. Now he has lied to the public. If he is wiling to lie to the public over something as small as an officer leaving court early, could you imagine what would happen if he needed to cover something that happened in town that was real serious?
If you don't hold your employees accountable, then the Citizens of Haymarket will be forced to hold you accountable on Election Day.
Just remember - Always on Guard
